Hi Guys,

So currently I have a NVidia Geforce GTX 550Ti which has held up rather well over the years. I am looking to upgrade and was wondering what you would recommend. My price range is anything below R2k. It is used for Gaming, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3, Battlefield 4 etc; My power supply is 550W.

Would appreciate your help.

Cheers!

Might want to post cpu/ram/board etc, might not be worth it to upgrade the card alone

i just recently ordered a GTX 750ti. Price i paid for it for performance was good. and you can easily run it off your 550w psu as it doesn't require to much power.

Take a GTX 950ti or 960ti rather.

I think you should just live it with for a little while longer, then get one of these http://www.lazygamer.net/technology/nvidia-expected-reveal-pascal-april-start-shipping-june/

+1, you are so close to the next gen.

At a R2k max budget I don't think that is an option. I think at that price point OP should stick with the GTX550Ti and increase his budget. Cards at that price point are usually a downgrade compared, unless you go second hand.
(the R7 250 is the closest I found to your price point at R1.9k and it is about the same performance.)

Best you can do for R2k is Sapphire R7 360 from rebeltech. Other option is second hand from carbonite.

If I was you I would wait & save up a bit more.

PC Specs as requested by Zenthrax

I5 2500K
Gigabyte Motherboard
Nvidia Geforce GTX 550TI
24GB DDR3 RAM
550W PSU

If I upped my budget to say around R3k, what would your recommendations be? Is a R1k increase in budget worthwhile?

Cheers.

Sell 16gb of your ram. Put it towards your gfx card.

Sell the ram kit and buy 8gb.

Why so much of rams?

He probably doesn't use the PC for gaming only!
In my experience, things like advance 3D editing and rendering can be quite demanding.

Also contact http://www.gtxgaming.co.za/ and ask what he has available in that price range, he had some used R9 280X cards for sale at R2.5k a while ago so it wont hurt to ask. He's quite active on this forum & provides excellent service based on the feedback from people here.
