Graphics Card

Do elaborate?

Your graphics cards were overheating and your PC was slowing/freezing/restarting?

Or not / other reasons...?

Cards would overheat and freeze the pc. This was even in winter believe it or not. Unless you have the run the setup you won't actually know i reckon or understand so let's call it my opinion on the matter having used the setup and leave it at that dude :D.

Because you ran the setup in abnormally high ambient temps. ;)

Does someone running the same at 20'C ambient temps need a 3 fan cooler, because you needed it while running under 28'C temps?

If no, then please advise as such. :)

Ambient temp in winter was way lower but i thought you get would bent out of joint if i said anyone who runs it will need the 3 fan cooler but here goes.

In winter the middle of winter i was using the 3 fan cooler or it would freeze :D. Perhaps you need to grasp how hot it is when i say IT WARMED MY ROOM IN WINTER :p

So have you actually used the setup dude?

Lol I understand it runs hot, as hot as any high end dual graphics card setup with high TDP. Higher TDP = more heat.

You already said anyone who runs 6970 - 6990 would need one... That's why we are where we are right now. I am calling you out for that, not denying high end dual graphics cards with high TDPs which = more heat run hot.

Fair enough perhaps not everyone but boy i don't see how anyone could run them together without ensuring the heat is removed with a big fan because the heat from the 6990 is both ends of the cards, which is an issue for obvious reasons. It's like putting a 100 degree heater in your box and expecting things to run fine :p. Anyone without water cooling hehe

Well if I go for that powercolor 6990 I'd get a watercooling block for it I think.
Should help things.

At the end of the day it's not going to lower the card's TDP. A high TDP card will always output a lot of heat.

It's cool to have though, can be quieter, can help if your case has ventilation problems, and if your room's ambient temperature is high. :)

Ita a Haf * You should know :D *
Just dont want the noise of it to be honest.
Plus, I think watercooling would be a fun little project to do :)

Running a single 6990 if you have an aircon should not really make too much noise if you have a haf. You would only need about 40-50% fan perhaps less depending on how cold you set the aircon. Water cooling a 6990 could prove challenging though, the block would be enormous. I wonder how much a 6990 would be? Kuk expensive i would imagine hahah. You may need to change the hdd position though. I put my hdd's on top of dvd rom so they can escape the heat.

Well the card is R 5600 + about R 1800 for the block.

So R 7400 for a card and a block doesnt seem that bad right ?

So what were your hdd temps then that caused you to move them?

-18 degrees and -11 and on really cool days they were below freezing.

Never checked the temps but when your ssd drive feels fairly warm you know there is an issue with heat so to be on the safe side i moved them away from the very hot backside of my 6990. As i said you would need to have used a 6990 to understand the heat i speak of.

Have you used a 6990 postman, what make was it?

Sigh.

I take that then as your admittance that you moved them out of your own sensitivity to perceived supposed extreme temps, and not because they actually needed to be moved as a result of extreme temps.

If I'm assuming things, I welcome your correction.

Oh ffs you're doing huge edits again. But exactly as I thought I assumed correctly.

What complete nonsense. I'm so glad I'll never be able to understand your failure at reasoning.

I don't know what the relevance of your question "Have you used a 6990 before" is? Please elaborate.

Post have you used a 6990?

LOL you are very lame, you keep going on about something you have never used, i am astounded how you think you know what the heat is like having never used a 6990 LMFAO @ postman. I keep editing because i want to add stuff or notice that i had left out some words. My edit never affected your post bud.

Eish wena i am a know all but i concede when i have no fking clue about something LOL.

I know one thing, ssd's don't run fairly warm. When they are fairly warm whether or not i need to move them i will. So i don't really care if i needed to move or not, it was hotter than it should be due to the 6990 putting out plenty heat so i moved it. If you don't think i should i actually couldn't care :D. LOL don't you have more to do in life than worry if someone should move their hdd? haha

The funniest shyte is you never even sold a 6990 or used one yet you know about the heat. No man sis.

If a Ferrari has a 6 litre V12 engine, would you need to drive it yourself to know it was fast?

Yes of course you would. A Ferrari 6 litre V12 is neither slow nor fast, you have to drive it yourself first to work out what it is.

Your logic, in a nutshell.

"Fairly warm" means nothing. Get the physical temperatures before assuming about "fairly warm."

Needing to move something should be based on facts, not "fairly warm to the touch" and "I'm running this huge 6 Series AMD graphics card and 6 Series runs hot (nonsense)" etc.

I have plenty more to do, but I will not stand for bs misinformation you sprout unknowingly until you're called out for it, as it affects others for whom I care.

Whether I've sold or used one is irrelevant, also it is information you haven't a clue about so don't assume.
