Great demand for Apple iPhone 4S

Well it seems demand for this one, even with the keynote let down is very high.

If you weren't quick enough in pre-ordering your iPhone 4S, you're going to be waiting an extra week or two. Launch Day supplies of the newest Apple phone have been depleted, according to MacRumors, which cites the new waiting times on the pre-order site above.

Then again it could be normal, as its well known that Apple create that extra hype by only allowing a limited number of stock out the 1st few weeks.

In the US an iPhone costs $199 with a 2 year contract. In SA I got an iPhone free with a 2 year contract. How is it cheaper in the US?

Its does depend on the contract, but I know that MTN ran a special for a while on the Iphone 4 for under R199pm you get the phone free with 150MB data for 2 year contract with minutes etc.
So the phone is not out of reach IMHO. Not sure what will happen with the initial 4S but after a period I am sure you will see lots of deals available.
