After numerous tickets and some actual resolution to my Telkom woes, my ADSL synch is now rock solid. Voice on the line is crystal clear. But it does seem that I am accessing the internet from the moon.

Ping statistics for 41.203.21.137:
    Packets: Sent = 58, Received = 39, Lost = 19 (32% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

My costly ADSL line makes a great random number generator, but it is not much good for anything else.

Back to the ADSL hotline for me...

Are you also using Telkom Internet as an ISP? Very strange latency indeed.

okay you're shy of a few zeros for a ping to the moon but i get the sarcasm. that latency is horrible, and i see packet loss too, either the DSLAM has had it or your network interface wants to retire? doubt it's the router but try borrow one anyway

neighbors in the PA base having these issues also?

Today I'm getting 42ms pings to MyBB with no variation or packet loss. I hope this means a return to earth.

Actually, many people in PA have been complaining. Even the Telkom technician who came to sort my line noise out said his kids were moaning that they couldn't play their online games because the internet was so bad.

Well, I hope it is fixed permanently. But my experiences this year lead me to doubt it. But for now... Yay!

Hey Gatecrasher. I might have my forumites confused, but were you not in PTA? You recently moved to PA? Hello from EL! :D
