Greek Yoghurt

So by excluding greek-style do you mean made by an actual Greek?
Real Greek yoghurt can clog your veins at 30 meters, is topped with raw nuts and real, raw, honey.

Inserting a spoon you will learn you cannot stir it.

It is an absolute treat.

Personally, I choose Prosopa

Retail? No idea. Haven't found it.

That's not a treat, that's sounds like a fight.

You can find a close one at Mezetaki in Senderwood. They have a “home made” one. It’s not bad but sometimes a bit grainy.
The best part is while there you can have a frappe…

Honestly though the best one I’ve had outside of Greece in a while is the Authenticos brand. Most supermarkets have it.

What do they call it in Greece? Yoghurt?

Actually that's the law in SA. Greek Yoghurt can't legally be called Greek Yoghurt in SA unless it was actually made in Greece. The reason why we have "Greek-Style" labels here.

Is that kinda like Champagne and sparkling wine.

I'm sure there are people outside of Greece who make better yogurt than the Greeks. No need to go Greek, just find someone who makes good Greek yogurt.

I mean in theory if it’s only got milk in and ideally goat or sheep milk without any additives then that’s Greek yoghurt.

Exactly the same, yes.

Not at all, unlike Champagne vs MCC which uses the same process just in different locations these are entirely different things.

Same with Feta, where we only have Feta-style because it’s not made with goat or sheep’s milk.

“Style” is a presentation not a process.

Sparkling Wine would be “champagne style” effectively, the process is MCC which can be called Champagne when it comes from there.

Same with brandy and cognac.

Greek yogurt and Greek-style are two completely different manufacturing processes. It's not a PDO like Champagne, Rooibos Tea, or even Feta... if someone used the correct process they could sell it here as Greek Yogurt.

Seems like we dont have any Greeks on here otherwise one of them would have responded "in deez nuts" already.
