Hey guys.

I'm on a bit of a health kick at the moment and was reading up on the health benefits of green tea. I've never tried it, but I've heard from some people that it is seriously disgusting...

Can any of you recommend a not-too-disgusting and super healthy green tea for me to try?

Thanks :)

The first cup can be disgusting and I can't tell you why.

I drink a cup everyday and love it. Start with the Jasmine Green Tea from Woolworths (unbleached bags).

Uhm, compare Green Tea to Rooibos tea and you will see that Rooibos has almost all of the benefits and it doesn't contain caffeine. I would just stick to that, tastes better.

Check out this website, it has scrollers to match what you want. If you just want the health benefits it shows that Rooibos is healthier.

I should at that Rooibos doesn't have as much anti-oxidants as Green Tea, and the anti-oxidants aren't the same either. But I just thought if you want it only for the health benefits that you shouldn't go to far away from home ;)

I have about 4 - 5 cups a day and I love it, health benefits or not!

Thanks, I will give that a try :) I will force the first cup down!

Patrick Jane drinks it so it must be good and tasty. ;)

Good point :p

I've never even tried Rooibos  Thanks, I will give that a try too.

Good to hear! :D What brand do you drink?

Usually that means that the tea was brewed incorrectly. If the taste doesn't agree with you, rooibos is a very good caffeine-free alternative.

As a general rule, everything that tastes crap will probably be of better benefit to your health, and everything that gives you a mouthgasm is probably bad for your health. Generally speaking of course ;)

I updated my post above, but taste is really subjective so give the green tea a try.

Rooibos is extremely healthy and tastes YUMMY! Rather drink Rooibos knowing that you are putting something proudly South African into your tummy! :-) A US company might have trade marked the "Rooibos" name...bastads...but Rooibos can only be cultivated here! :-)

Properly made coffee (thats espresso btw) can have the same health benefits as green tea and rooibos (plus some bad ones).

I'll definitely give both a try, but I want to try green tea first :)

I know :( Why can't they genetically modify vegetables to taste like cheese burgers?!

Been drinking the stuff for a while... Try the Lipton Green Tea Lemon much better tasting - can't drink the regular after that anymore... Also Twinings has a fruit infusion that has a bunch of flavours which good for hiding the green tea taste...

As with everything moderation and balance is important - coffee if also packed with anti-oxidants and caffeine in the right amounts (no more than 3 cups per day - one teaspoon per cup) is also good and so is Rooibos so mix it up... Try stay away from sugar apparently that wreaks havoc on your cells - or so I've read ;)

You may as well just drink hot water because green tea either adds f-all flavour, or makes it taste worse.

try Freshpak Rooibos and Senna - Senna is for digestion, also helps cleaning junk from yr tummy.
I had severe constipation probs and was close to a surgery.
After treated medically, i changed my diet and found the tea above to be a lifesaver.

How do you make it? Some people make it with lemon and honey and all that jazz, which would explain the yummyness :)

Junky said it. Drink Rooibos. Its better and local. And local is lekkkaa!

Seriously though, plain green tea is disgusting. IMO. :o

Try it. Try bossie tea and come tell us. It would be interesting what someone that has never tasted Bossie tea think of it.
