Green Tea

Just out of interest. My mom was telling me a few weeks ago that she was talking to a guy that works for one of the big Rooibos factories or something and they looking at doing a instant Rooibos product...so no more waiting for the Rooibos to "trek" for mintues before drinking it. Now you can just make it like coffee...and because of the process they gonna use the health benefits will be even better as it will be stronger! The factory or whatever it is in the Clanwilliam area in Western Cape.....big big Rooibos area.

Been drinking the stuff for a while... Try the Lipton Green Tea Lemon much better tasting - can't drink the regular after that anymore... Also Twinings has a fruit infusion that has a bunch of flavours which good for hiding the green tea taste...

As with everything moderation and balance is important - coffee if also packed with anti-oxidants and caffeine in the right amounts (no more than 3 cups per day - one teaspoon per cup) is also good and so is Rooibos so mix it up... Try stay away from sugar apparently that wreaks havoc on your cells - or so I've read ;)

Thanks for the suggestion, I will add them to my list :) I have stopped taking sugar in my coffee completely. At one point, I was having six cups a day, with two sugars per cup. 12 spoons of sugar!!! TWELVE!!!

Freshpak. And it's cheap.

Thanks, added to my try-it-to-see-if-its-not-too-disgusting-list ;)

You may as well just drink hot water because green tea either adds f-all flavour, or makes it taste worse.

Its more about the health benefits than the taste...

try Freshpak Rooibos and Senna - Senna is for digestion, also helps cleaning junk from yr tummy.
I had severe constipation probs and was close to a surgery.
After treated medically, i changed my diet and found the tea above to be a lifesaver.

Thanks for the suggestion :)

How do you make it? Some people make it with lemon and honey and all that jazz, which would explain the yummyness :)
I have it with some sugar (although honey would be much healther i imagine) and milk (although Black...or red in this case is just as yummy). :-)

I cant drink English tea....it is gross! :-)

Junky said it. Drink Rooibos. Its better and local. And local is lekkkaa!

Seriously though, plain green tea is disgusting. IMO. :o

Try it. Try bossie tea and come tell us. It would be interesting what someone that has never tasted Bossie tea think of it.

I will keep you posted! :)

Thats a cool idea, I hope that it makes it to market!

I know Why can't they genetically modify vegetables to taste like cheese burgers?!

Much easier to modify your mindset :p Vegetables taste awesome to me and sweets taste disgusting. Just the smell of chocolate makes me want to puke. It's all in the mind!

I'm much better with veggies than I used to be, but I really do lurrve chocolates and sweets :o

I drink my Rooibos black - or Red I should say, with one brown sugar. I never use to like it with brown sugar, but now it just tastes so much better (my taste probably changed as I aged). My gran used to drink it black (red) also but with one tea spoon of honey.

yeah as everyone else has been saying, rooibos has more antioxidants than green tea and is caffeine free

Rooibos is yummy in various forms:

- Black, with lemon and honey
- White, with 1 sugar and a spot of milk.

The most important thing (for me), is to keep the bag in the cup, so that the tea "draws" properly. It should steep for at least 3 mins to draw out the anti-oxidants.

Green Tea's good, if mixed with a flavourant like mint or lemon or chamomile. On its own, it's a naff tasting drink. Oolong tea's supposed to be less harsh though

Thanks for the serving suggestions guys! :)

Love green tea, hot or cold.

Keep in mind that you can burn green tea so use water below boiling point.

You like rooibos? flarkit.

Overlooking the rather lame 1-liner, :)
I certainly do enjoy rooibos. It's a healthier start to the day and doesn't leave me with the shakes nor blood-sugar spikes like coffee does.

80C to be exact - or so I've read... Saw a kettle the other day that you can set to that exactly!

Green tea nice once you get use to it :) After about maybe three cups you will get use to the taste. :)
