Greenlab closing down

What is up with these e-mails indeed? 3 in the last few days from the general public.
 
Getting ridiculous now isn't it? I would assume that the mistake was made only once and isn't recurring. I don't think it's a case of old account email addresses still being on the mailing list but more that the old mailing list still applies.

Despite not agreeing with their rules of membership, something you can say about the other site is you never hear anything about them.
 
It's not a valid mailing list. That's via guys that aren't members anymore still get the mails and new guys don't.

It was an email sent out a loooong time ago (beginning of the year) that had all the addresses in the To: field. This was a mistake made and the admins did apologize for it.

Now some other idiot took advantage of this and is using it against the site.

The admins have vowed not to send out any notifications via email again and only communicate via PM's.

Greenlab never demanded money, btw. Accounts only get closed when the member hasn't used it for more than 2 months (ie. not logged in for more than 2 months). Don't have to use it, just log in now and then.

I think saying you can't download without a doh-nay-shun can be seen as demanding money.
Is it closed yet?;)
 
most torrent sites i know don't except donations whatsoever.

I think you should go back to school...or are you in school? Learn to read properly! They do not demand donations, most of the members do not mae a donation...

o3d, you were most likely banned for being a trouble maker?
 
What are the different user classes?

The default class of new members.

Power User
Can download DOX over 1MB, view NFO files and, view extra details.

Many still do, but the majority doesn't. And they are all still members. The donation money goes to the hosting of the site and paying for the bandwidth used.
 
And if you don't donate, they brand you as a leecher and close your account ... to quote Greenlab "After that it's bye bye Kansas!". Right ...

Who would want to join a torrent site that has so many rules and regulations, they need like 60 pages to explain the mechanism!

As I said before, spotty kids trying to act like grownups leeching money ...
 
Some stupid slob would leach money like that, but not the people at greenlab. If
you donate, its helping them, if you don't you don't, nothing happens after that.

I rate that your problem is that you dont know how to use a torrent and a torrent program?

There is no hidden agenda behind the donations, its plain and simple. You either make one or you dont. The choice is entirely up to the user???

I really dont get why you are ranting like an old woman..

Maybe the sharing part is unfamiliar to you??

Was this the reason you got banned, maybe? Wouldn't surprize me...

Nothing about the donation in that rule, now is there?
 
Donation is a choice - I've never donated or ever been forced to donate, but kept up my ratio - leech & share back, isn't that the point of p2p -- hell, it's free isn't it? All the private sites I've ever signed up to have NEVER forced a donation, and all the p2p sites I've ever visited ALL have buttons somewhere or other for making a donation... I can't understand the point of this thread - seems to have got into a dissing session - either join or don't, the choice is yours... :)

Skeptik i started at GL about 30 weeks ago i was a normal user and i am an uploader i have never donated, You download and you upload its as simple as that.
