Grey Box on Boundary wall

Not that the black box is far more secure by any means,there's actually one up the road that's lying open and the entire fibre bundle is halfway rolled out the box :P

If you look you'll see there's a little black square handhole in front of every grey bwb.

You assume wrong. You will get a bwb on the side of your house when you sign up for a service if you have no wall.
 
There's nothing in the grey box except the end of the fibre lead running to the PoP.
When you connect up, they just run another fibre from the grey box to your CPE, with a physical connector between the two.
 
I didn't get a grey box either, Vumatel ran the fibre into my house from the black box on the main fibre run (incidentally they chucked my grey box in there as well :))
 
cool thanks, guys. Hopefully, I will be up and running in a few weeks :P My ADSL been dead for the last two weeks and between Telkom and Webafrica that don't answer their phones I am just gatvol now lol and just can't wait anymore

Nope, there is no grey box at all. The fibre line runs straight from the manhole to the house through a thin conduit that pops out of the ground next to the wall. Maybe they've hidden the grey box inside the manhole, but it's definitely not anywhere between the manhole and the house.
 
got a email from Tanya and she said .I have spoken to the Project Manager who has informed me that this one box supplies two homes. :) @pinball wizard any idea when Malvern Queensburgh will go live ?

That's in Malvern Phase 5. It's still in build but main delay will be from those links we need from DFA. I'm sure we good for end of the year though..
