GRID local

Oh ya, with what settings do you guys play ? I dont have a steering wheel, so playing with assists off on the keyboard is going to be a tad difficult, but with practice I'm sure I'll get it right, eventually :)
 
Dr.G and I tried last night with driving assist off, I was playing on the keyboard, but it's to difficult. Venom said that we can play with it on tonight. I want to meet the guy who can play with the driving assist of and using manual gears. :D

At the end of the day, I don't mind coming last, cause it is so much fun.

Everything on max, but I do have some graphic corruption, but I really need to format and do a clean install. :p

EDIT: FYI, Dr.G was playing with his neotel connection and I would say it was quite playable.
 
LOL I should've said in-game settings like, driving assists etc. I also play with everything on max, graphically speaking :D
 
Ah, makes sense now. :D Last night we tried both with driving assist on and off, but Dr.G is playing with manual and I was on Auto. Gave the manual a go, but with driving assist off, it is way to difficult. :D For me.
 
LOL, manual shift will also be a nightmare for me, especially with the keyboard. It would take some practice and it is possible, but a steering wheel and pedals would obviously be much better. I just wish the game had drag racing as well, how I'd love that, NFSU's drag racing was what made me play that game over and over and over and over... :D
 
Yeah drags would've been awesome. I play with a logitech joystick. The keyboard is way too irritating.
 
This is just awesome stuff, keep getting blue screen of death with this game.
Or Video Driver stops responding.
Count me out guys.

Well done ATi, ur Drivers are teh leet! Naaaat. Ive personally had enough of ATi's Driver problems. || This close to changing over.
 
Ah, man, not good to hear. My ATI and it's drivers aren't giving me any problems. :D

@ StoneCold - Dr.G and I made our own drags last night in grid, but it is easy to cheat, cause if you press the home key to chat, the computer drives and for some reason they can pull away while driving assist is off and the gearbox is a manual. :o
 
LOL, yeah I have seen that when you chat, the pc auto navigates one's car, although not at fullspeed always... mind you I think I should install the game now, before this evening. What patch are you guys running ? Even though it doesn't matter, seeing that all the versions are backward compatible with one another :D
 
Nope... checked now with a couple of games highest it got was 49-51 degrees.
I have a HIS 4850 IceQ4 Turbo and running 8.12 Vista x64 drivers (Ultimate Issue...). I think 8.12 is the problem its buggy. Like you cant have higher than 4GB ram, if you do the Video Driver doesnt load, how sad. ATi Drivers ftl
 
I got 4GB Ram so I dont have that issue lol... but my friend has my old 3870 which I sold to him when I bought 4000 and he has 6GB ram, when we updated the driver it kept crashing like it said Display Driver error or something, so go check stuff out on the forums at numerous places after many minutes of Google searching and ppl said 8.12 in Vista Ultimate 64 it wont accept higher than 4GB RAM... we tried it at my friends place took a stick out... wala Driver worked.... W. T . F :confused:, put the stick back in and driver error again. I couldnt understand wat I was seeing, how sad. A later driver, that has more bugs. hmmmmmm Vista only though yet again
