Grocery Specials Thread

Its been R15-R17 for a while now...but I notice recently it jumped to R20. Bloody shops all advertising it as a special at R19.99 and I was like WTF special?!
Sugar tax brought to you by the ANC.

Sugar Tax was brought to us by Jamie Oliver and Michael Bloomberg. Mostly Bloomberg.
Nah they brought the idea to the ANC who saw dollars. Has the plastic bag tax reduced plastic waste? Recycling? Anything? How's R20 coke helping the people?

Makes absolutely no sense that price. 3 months ago it was R15. Hell 2 weeks ago it was R16. And wasn't that after they already included the sugar tax? How did it jump that much

We are being ripped to shreds at the retailers. It's just ridiculous. You just get less and less every month.

They've already ordered their new cars.....

You're forgetting petrol price increased.

Is there a way to buy groceries bulk and get much cheaper prices? You retired folks can pack the groceries and post to us.

This is a brilliant idea. A few friends and colleagues and I used to buy detergents and non-perishable items from Cash and Carrys and split the costs.

I find makro and other wholesalers are sometimes not as cheap as normal supermarket specials

Meh. Clicks have their own 2ply brand at permanent special of R69 for the 18pack. And it compares well to Twinsaver.

Clicks paper is hard.. .

And no not on a permanent special. But yes, more frequently on sale than other brands.

Bargain of the [-]Year[/-] [-]Decade[/-] [-]Century[/-] Millennium:
A ton of sugar for R7.40 @ Makro. Works out to R0.0185 per 2.5KG. Stock might be a problem though and delivery.,.,.,., yeah.

R20 for Coke is discouraging you from wasting your money on it and is helping you keep your sugar intake in check, thus keeping you healthier longer, both physically and monetary. They're doing you a favour
