Growing Chilli

My poor plants are looking very sorry for themselves :(.

They have so many amazing looking chillies that are just about ripe, but the leaves are all wilted. I'm not sure what I should do as they have been getting enough water and sun.

Are they just like this because they have so much fruit?

Yumm ... that chilli jam looks delicious. With what or how do you eat it though?

I've made half a batch of this recently (using 5 habaneros) and it's quite delicious uploadfromtaptalk1363520028584.jpg

It turned out really well. Put it on crackers with cheese or as an accompaniment to other dishes.

Delicious with cold meat sarmies (or on bacon)

All of my habaneros have died
Sad news man ... not knowing my arse from my elbow about growing plants I really hedged my bets with my little chili experiment

This was the first habanero I planted out in the garden ... plain normal soil with a bit of 3:2:3 fertilizer and bonemeal. I'll have to harvest this weekend :)

These I played around a bit with potting soil and fertilizer mixtures in BIG containers ... I have high hopes for the 2nd group, I really expect 100's of chili's from these bad boys

This last one I kept in a 20cm container using only potting soil but size wise the pot totally restricted the plant from reaching it's full potential, it's only carrying 4 or 5 habaneros :( Will definitely plant them all out in the garden or much bigger pots next year. Clearly the roots need some space for the plant to grow.

Hey guys.

I'm new to the forum. Would like to swop experience and possibly seeds.

Its' planting season!

ATM I have orange habanero, thai, bird's eye that are about 2ft tall, pepperdew 3ft, and various size small plants like tabasco, cayenne, thai, sweet pepper, black treasure, bhut jolokia, hungarian hot wax and jalepeno.

Some are really starting to grow as the weather warms up.

And I'm pre-germinating some more seeds.

Cheers
