Grrr. Winsock

So thanks to Eishkom and a power cut, my adsl died and despite heroic life support by my trusty APC, it wasn't enough. Now with power restored, my adsl is connected but not browsing. The Winsock seems to be the problem but when this was reset and the XP rebooted, no joy.
Is this a DNS or Winsock issue? Can anyone help get this resolved? Note that the Modem was not reset. Only the winsock catalog to default settings.

What makes you think this was definitely the problem?
Please do ipconfig /all at the command line and paste the results along with the results of a ping to your router
