I just got my grubby little paws on a BlackBerry Bold and am very happy with it indeed. One thing that I can't seem to figure out, is how to use GSM codes - you know, *111# for customer service *140*mynumberhere# for a callme and so on. When I dial, it seems to completely ignore * and # which makes it a tad difficult to dial these.

Anyone know what I should do?

Make a new contact with the gsm code you want to use. Eg. I made a contact for my *162* balance enquiry and then set a speed dial up for it. Works fine on my Bold.

Thanks.

Wow, that's quite strange. Does that mean it can't do interactive stuff? For example on my Nokia I can dial *111# to get the menu, and then dial the responses, which may lead to more menus and more responses.

Does that work?

Hmmm, that is weird. I have a bold and just dial *111# (i don't press ALT though, this might be your issue) Just try dial a111q (works on my phone).

It works perfectly on my Bold. I can't really see the problem lol. Good luck.

OK, I did it without Alt and it works like a charm.

Makes sense now that I know - after all, I didn't press Alt to dial the numbers!
