GT5 Prolugue vs GT5?

Hi guys. Hope you can help me.

I will hopefully get my PS3 this week, along with the 2010 soccer game. Although I'm thankfull for the world cup, that gave me the opportunity to win the console, I'm not a soccer fan and don't think I will play the soccer game.

I'm a bit out of touch regarding games. The last console I had was the Xbox 360 and a PS2 before that. I tend to like car games and rpg's.

I had a look around and saw the GT5 Prologue seems to be the latest(I might be wrong though), but then I saw a 2 November 2010 release of GT5 in USA and Europe releases after that.

Are these 2 different games, like with LAN and no LAN for the other one or what is going on?
Are there any other car racing games that are better or worthwhile to play?

Gt5 prologue is like a early released version or a "reduced playable demo" of GT5. GT5 will still be released the end of this year. It's a long awaited "game" (a few years in the making) and will be fantastic racing simulator rather that a "game", with 1000+ "true to life" latest model cars "playable"/drivable in HD and even 3D. Will also include damage simulation. Yep there are many racing/fun games. Depends on your likes. Games better than GT5 Prologue, YES, better than GT5, LIKE HELL NO! there will be none better. We cannot wait.
 
In the interim, you could probably pick up GRID at a good price. Keep you busy until the release of GT5.
 
Forza 4 is the best racing sim, hands down ...
 
Thank you for the feedback. Eish an expensive demo at some places that GT5 prologue. :)

forza is x-box only, and lucky for you, you wont have to choose...
both excellent games, though GT does have a record for trouncing forza in the past....
interesting to see how the latest installment compares...
 
Oh ... thought we were comparing, reviewing and commenting on games that aren't out as yet?

Ahhh yes.. in terms of games that aren't out yet.. Forza 4 is uber alles.
 
lol. Googled now and saw that Forza 4 is going to be released in 2011 and it is a Xbox game, so use for me.

Bad on you Dolby! Bad boy! :(

Whether its an xbox game or not.. its still going to knock the socks off GT5..... and personally whilst GT5 is good, I don't think its a quantum leap over Forza 3.
 
Forza (3) and GT5 (Prologue) are both decent games. If you own both consoles and are a racing fan you can't go wrong getting both. If you're into rallying, there is Dirt 2.
 
What about Dirt2 ?? I find it awesome, but then again I am a PS3 newbie and its my first game...
 
Forza is an OK racing game(not really a sim) but you do get bored after a few plays.It also does not support 900 degree steering wheels, its nothing compared to gt5.I have been waiting for this game for years and im getting all exited just thinking about it.:D

... Same arguement applies the other way.

Do you know how stupud you sound punting something that none of you have seen or tried?
