Hi all

I'm really mad now. I've been playing GTA3 - (The normal, original one) in the 1st area, however, it's lagging a bit in the second area.... HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE???

Here are my specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 2.00Ghz Processor
1024MB RAM
160GB HDD
128MB GeForce 6150

With those specs, surely the game can't lag AT ALL???

Any advice?

believe me i am having about the same problem.Gta is a huge game.hell it takes 10 mins just to drive to the othere side of the world from your ghetto.
Think of all the countryside stuff, scenic.Grafix card must be working alot

What I can't understand about the developers, is that they recommend the following specs to play:

Pentium 3
256MB Ram
32MB Graphics Card

And still, it lags in the second world.

if you say second world what do you mean,Cause the game is not divided.there is the ghetto the city the country side then desert then...
They all fow into one.

You realise I'm talking about GTA III. (The normal one)

I know they are all in the same city, but there are 3 different parts devided with bridges.

when you say lagging, do you mean the fps goes down or does it stutter?
it sounds strange, gta3 is an old game, should work fine on your system :/ does lowering the res help at all?

The fps goes down in certain parts of the city. That is what I can't understand. As you said, GTA3 was released years ago, and it should work perfectly on my system.

how does your pc do on in 3D mark? & its like my pc and Age of Empires 3, if I put on highest I can't run on 1280x1024 but can on 1024x768 with a 7800gtx, my company of heroes runs better than my age of empires 3...

i played call of duty, amd it played fine awhile back, but then i played san andreas last year it was shyt. But on my ps2 it was ok,I tried the pc version and i just ended up uninstalling it.

i must admit though GreatBigMouth, i think you could do with a nicer video card, your other components seem alot better ;p
is it an onboard one or something?

Geez I cant even find a 6150 on gpureview.com. Who's it made by? Matel?

dude its a onboard GFX card.
its "128MB" memory is probably being taken from your RAM.

Yeah i figured that out Brawler. Yet it only takes 32Mb from my ram. I'm left with 992MB. So what is the difference between onboard and one that you buy? And why isn't onboard that good?
