I haven't needed to reboot my console though, it eventually continues with gameplay.
Complete lockup is still to happen with my a game of mine. My drive doesn't scratch discs either.
I'm keeping fingers crossed I don't have to swop out down the line

Reading this crap makes me sick. I still remember walking into the shop, getting a ps2,psx or whatever game, going home, popping it in and wham! it works flawlessly.
Now these days you have RROD's, games freezing, overheating, framerate issues, install files needed on HDD (even heard that freezes sometimes)...pathetic
Consoles are just becoming as unstable as PC's IMO

I wouldn't say pathetic, I'd say transitional. This generation happen at a tech cusp and it's caused issues. I think by the next generation we'll be back to real "consoles", ie minimal moving parts. Optical options would have been sorted and hard drives will make way for flash drives. On that part there's going to be no getting away from installs, purely from a speed perspective.
