GTA IV (PC), appropriate for what ages?

Hey everybody!!! :) So let me get straight to the point, for what age and up is GTA 4 appropriate? Yes I know the ESRB rating states that it is rated M (for Mature) or 17+ but those ratings hardly ever seem correct to me.

So let me ask it this way, for a teen who plays games like Fallout 3, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, Max Payne 2 (I know it’s old but it’s for comparison reasons), Doom 3 (same goes for doom3), Dead Space, Area 51 Black-site, etc (yeah I think you get the general point!!!) would GTA 4 be appropriate?

Look depending on the kind of parent you are i would imagine 14 years and older would be ok, gta iv is not to violent but not suited for kids thats for sure.

Ok sounds good, but is there any adult content, like adult scenes and things in that category in the game? I.E. in GTA san andreas you could pick up a prostitute, are there things of that nature in this game?
 
If fallout 3 and doom are ok I would say 13+ is ok for gtav 4.

For that's my opinion and I was allowed to play basicly any game since I turned 13 before that age my parents were strict but once I turned 13 they were ok with 99% of games.
 
You get lap dances but dude if your kids have a pc more than likely they have seen much more porn than some poorly modeled gta chick.

Well 14+ should be fine. Violence not so bad, more the prostitutes giving BJ's and their "services". The car doesn't just jump up and down a bit anymore.
 
There is some very suggestive lap dancing, but the swearing is more anoying, about every 5th word is f@#k, but then, maybe its just the way i drive ingame......

Would buy it for kids though, its a great game.....but yeah.

If you piss the people off then they tend to swear, if other people are around the swearing gets overboard though.

The specs look like its quite a CPU intensive game.

You GFX card is fine, it looks like you would need to OC or upgrade your CPU.
It also recommends 2.5GB of ram.

It's utterly depraved and immoral, but the violence isn't very graphic or realistic. (Nothing like COD5... Wow.) There's no sex, but I should warn you that there's someone smoking a blunt or snorting a line in every second cutscene. :p (Not the player-character ever.)

If you ask me, there is actually some moral message behind the story. Basically everyone ends up dead or miserable from their life of crime. (The player-character ends up rich, of course, but even he has a lot of story-trauma from living by the sword. It's better done than previous GTA games.)

I'm running it at 800x600 :( and I have a widescreen monitor that needs 1440x900 so at the moment it looks too crap to play.

Will getting another 2gigs of ram help?

Or should I upgrade my processor?

Try the ram first, less costly, and more ram always helps. If the improvement isn't big enough try the processor idea:)
