Vista PC, Intel Core2Duo 2.2Ghz with 1gb ram & onboard graphics and tryed throwing on San Andreas.....It installs ok but runs like s**t.....

I've read about people with 2Gb ram + those 8800 cards still having problems so where would be the best place to start to get the game working properly....... or am i going to waste money trying?

Is there any vista updates about for it? Couldn't find anything like that on Rockstars website unless i wasn't looking in the right place.
Anyone been down this road before + got any advice?

Its a Vista thing, GTA:SA with those specs will run A-OK on XP. The games requirements are minimal for starters (engine isn't heavy) gforce3 256mb ram 1Ghz. Don't know about updates for Vista sorry.

xp allot better for gaming and vista good for suffering

switched back to xp today to find up to 50% increase in frame rates.

currently no fix, tweak or driver to make games run at least in some state of optimalness in vista.

I'm pretty sure I ran GTA: SA fine with my Vista rig a while ago...

Turn off Vsync, but make sure the game's ingame frame limiter is on, or bad things will happen. Also make sure that things like FSAA and anistropic filtering aren't being forced by the graphics drivers.

Cheers people,Got it running OK by turning the video quality down to the lowest setting,in display settings/advanced.Thanks for the replies.
