GTA V Won't Launch

I had a similar issue with the retail disc and the game would not even launch to let me do the 5gb patch. I had to delete this file and then it repaired itself and no issues after. GFSDK_ShadowLib.win64.dll

Thanx, will give this a bash later this evening.

I got a reply from R*'s support, will see if their recommendations work.

I managed to get it working before the AMD suggestions via changing the DX_Version in the GTA settings file to "2" or "1" (I can't remember now, but this made the game playable, but slow). But once I followed the whole uninstall drivers process, things just started to work. The kid says that now all the other games (COD, Team Fortress etc) play smoother. FWIW - after having to fiddle on a Windows machine for 5 hours, I am so grateful to play on a PS4 :-)

The DX_Version on the settings files, was 6 by default, but I tried 0,1 and 2, but to no avail.
I am actually close to the point off just going back to my XB360 and play it there again.

Try the AMD link with the steps of DDU_Uninstaller and the reinstallation of the Intel chipset drivers and the AMD graphics drivers. This worked for a number of people.

Tried it, no luck with me

I got a response from R*, as to be expected, hereby their stock response:
- Make sure the game is patched
- Gave a link to individually dl DX, Visual C+++ and Social Club
- Gave me a list of the game's requirements

So not too much luck from them.

I actually went ahead and formatted my machine and reloaded it (was looking for an excuse to format for a while now).... even that didn't sort it out.
So pretty sure that this isn't software related.

Well.... back to googles for some more research.

This might be a gfx card or memory issue. Try removing and swopping memory chips and if possible see if you can borrow someone's video card and test it.

PB, I think it was linked earlier (cant open some links from wek), but did you check to see if you had an onboard gfx card? Normally an HDMI/VGA port attached to the Mobo is clearish indication....

If so, you'd need to disable your AMD card, launch with onboard gfx, and as soon as it launches, enable your gfx card again.

As a matter of interest, if your mobo does have onboard graphics, remove the card and try running it. I see from the event logs there's a memory access violation, which could be either a driver or hardware fault.
