GTX295 vs GX 580

Hi,

When playing Witcher 2 on high settings on my PC, i noticed a serious slow down and jerky motion when running through the lush green forests. I thought my GTX295 would be able to handle most everything thrown at it ableit in dx9.

However, i love running games at their max, and so i have thought it might be an idea to upgrade to the GTX 580. I'm getting mixed reviews on whether or not i will see a noticible difference. Not sure its its worth upgrading...

My machine is a windows 7, i7 920 machine, 4gig. resolution i run on my 24inch is 1920 x 1080/

Eventhough the witcher is only DX9, will i see an increase if i upgrade to the gtx 580?

I be having it... Only get like 20-30FPS with maxed out graphics and Ubersampling... run fraps with your 295 and see what your FPS is? Sli 580's get you 60FPS in Witcher 2.

Turning off Ubersampling will triple your frame rate.
 
Try turning off ubersampling should be a lot smoother then
 
gonna need a lot more than 1 x 580 me thinks

im running a 5850 at 1920x1200 and its painful to see the mouse lag with vsync on

unless you just :love: tearing
 
cool. i try turn off the ubersampling.

i'm also lining up to play fable 3, deus ex3, ds3 and F.3.A.R. If these games support dx11, might it worth upgrading then?

Ultra with Ubersampling off I get 60FPS solid... On I get 20-30
High settings its basicall the same...60ish
