I have replaced my MR16 downlighter light bulbs with GU10 conversion kits. The dimmable downlighters are working fine. However when I put a rechargeable GU10(Eurolux) in the non-dimmable downlight fittings, it remains on irrespective if the power is on or not. Any suggestions on what to do?

I believe that those emergency light bulbs only work in fixtures with just a single bulb due to the way they work

I have a feeling it is to do with whether the circuits are in Series or Parrallel but I am no expert so hoping to find a solution

first take it out and turn it 180 degrees and put it back if its still on remove all the other gu10s on that switched circuit and it should turn off .then put them back one by one if one turns it on turn it 180 degrees if that doesnt work replace all the gu 10s with osram and dont buy Luceco bulbs they will trigger the battery one .it works on resistance if you wet your finger and put it over the loose gu10 contacts it will turn on .if you have any other type of led downlighter with a fixed lens globe assembly with wires .forget getting it to work .then you give it to the kids and let them put there tongue over the 2 pins and run around the garden at night

Reading the reviews on Takealot, these dont work for most people, that said you have the opposite problem, yours stay on all the time.

Maybe the cheap China ones. Proper ones don't work like that.

i dont need to watch a video from some crock on you tube to know how they work see pic see light on ...then light off...them light on .they were originally called 3 mm lamps because you can stand them in a glass with 3mm of water in it to trigger the lamp .no wizardry involved .

Trust me, the cheap ones do work like that. I tested it and yes you can switch it on. But they are cr@p. I also tested with 'proper' ones and there is no ways in hell you can activate it like that.

If you don't want to watch the youtube vid, then it's your loss.

you mustnt believe what you see on you tube you see usa electricity and ours is worlds apart they use 2 phase 110 v with an earth plate we use 220v single phase with a dedicated neutral and an isolated earth .any contact between the 2 terminals will trigger it ie finger .tongue etc

oh bullshit .oh wait yours have a special little magician inside to turn them on only available to MBB couch wizards .get a life .they all work on the resistance in the circuit no resistance ...no on ...the monent you switch the switch it will pick up something in the circuitry that will trigger it .
