Guess how screwed I am?

Anyway, finally got hold of lady who works at re-seller (she either didnt get my message that I left for her, or she just got it and ignored it). New arrival date is tomorow morning for power supply :confused:

But your offer doesnt solve the underlying problem here. It cant be expected of you to give up your personal possessions to satisfy customers. The most important part of any business selling something is after sales service. :cool:

My offer still stands. I'll even throw in a cup of coffee.

BTW: It is 9v DC. You can buy a generic one at an electronics shop and just put the old connector on it.

Will let you know today after noon. The re-seller promised delivery today before noon. If I do get it, can we perhaps still hookup for a coffee. My fiance has an appointment with a wedding dress maker/person at 17:00 so that will leave me with about 30 minutes to kill in town? Would love to meet the man behind the e-mails and posts :D

I know the input and output voltage and amperage, and couldnt really find a generic one that matched all the specs exactly so I didnt want to take a chance and risk damaging the modem with incorrect adaptors.

ok, I'll be at Grey Together.
 
Input should be 220~240V, Output voltage has to be the same (9V), amperage the same or higher. So no need to match it exactly.

But all that said I know the modems handles up to 12V (got confused one time and plugged in the wrong psu, ran it for a week like that., old white model)
May just have being lucky so don't try this at home.

Much appreciated for the info. Going there now to collect. If they dont have it, then I will look for a generic alternative.
 
OK, this is the last update.
Got there at about 11:30 (the lady said yesterday I can collect anytime after 09:00 today) and the lady wasnt there again (was on lunch again). Nobody knew what was going on. They called her on her cell phone, and she said the adaptor SHOULD be there (she wasnt sure), but it has to be tested and installed by a technician first anyway (news for me). Anyway, I cut my losses, collected my modem and faulty power supply and left. She called now to say I must drive back there now so it can be tested. I told her I'm on my way.

P.S. I am not going back. Perhaps she will begin to understand how it feels to be messed around.

Anyway, thats it for me.
@Rooigev@@r - please can you do me a huge favour and check when my contract expires exactly so I know how much money in monthly fees I am tossing away.

@Everybody else - Desktop Iburst modem for sale. Power supply is faulty (according to the most useless people I know). Not sure if the Modem itself works. R50 :D

I'm sitting at Grey in Bloem. Excellent reception here on iBurst. I have 2 power supplies.

I wonder if I can make my 1 Mb/s into 2 Mb/s by hot wiring them together???

In any case, I leave the power supply at the Grey Reunie office. If anyone wants a power supply in Bloemies...

It has a switching tolerance of a few volts but it isn't a good idea to run it too far off spec.
