No, not a concept car at all, there were plenty of them on SA roads at the time...always used to fascinate me, as they could have been going in any direction! Not a Chrysler.

I remember in Dbn YEARS ago... they had VW Kombis that looked like the above... used to amuse me as a kid to watch them!
 
I know that's a rambler, 'cos I had a mate in Oz who drove one. A rambler american. But this is a hurst performance model, 'cos I was just at the same google destination as you it seems.:D

Heinz service station in Braamfontein had one in the 1980's. I used to drive it home sometimes - bloody embarassing actually! People laughed at you...
