Guess that car

Sorry for the delay...I forgot that it was my turn :o

My grandfather had a black '57 that he cherished like a baby. My dad, after years of pestering,(he was more of a Chevy guy) got him to sell it and buy a ..... BMW 2000 SA  . It ended up on a farm somewhere in the eastern Transvaal under a tree, stripped. ...Not the BM that is, that just rusted away by itself...
Sad story.

Go for it Colin! I am waiting for someone to give me the name of the bloody car!! :D

I know that HammerDown knows it, but he's gone all coy for some reason or other! ;)

If I had any clue, I'd be in here guessing away, but I don't.

I enjoy reading what everyone else posts (and learn a lot that way), and this is one of the threads I usually keep open even if I don't actually post in it :-)

OK Colin - clue 1 - let Google be your friend and start looking for early to mid 50's American cars....;)

Eish, looks like the fizz has gone....:)

'56 Star Chief. Like with the tri-five Chevies there is a bazillion body and roof configurations,

But doesn't it look like they took the nose off a Ferrari 250GTE and the tail off a Karmann-Ghia and mashed them together...???

Not a lead, just lunch time chatter...
