Guess your usage

Dudes I've been hearing the same BS since last year : "We working on it".

I'm frankly sick and tired.

I was contacted by Neotel yesterday and had a discussion with Yugeshree.
She replied with the following email, formalising the points we discussed:

Hi

As discussed I have given the following update to our internal team. The following points were highlighted:
· Your concern around the NeoGo advert
· Your need to understand why it is taking us so long to provide the real-time data usage to consumers who have either a Lite or Prime device.
· Going through the Contact Centre to get data usage, is challenging because the information is not real-time and causes you to go over bundle.
· You require a firm date for the release of data usage tracking (real-time)for the consumer
Our team has committed to getting times frames out to you – I will have an update for you by end of the week.

Bumblebee! Right now @ least I can put a nick to the complaint! Guys, I'll say it again and keep on saying it until it gets old, the t-shirt is in rags and the takes rubber perishes...We ARE working on it. Sometimes I cant give you all the information about what is being done but it's not always possible.:mad:

I can understand that you are working on it, but as with any project, there is a deadline and expected implementation date. This is the date that I think we all want, which is not unreasonable.
As for my complaint to the ASA, I stand by it.
A solution in development does not negate my claims, specially when there is no date given for its deployment.
Anyone who thinks this is unreasonable, search this forum yourself to find out since when a data monitoring app has been in development/promised.

This issue has cost me real money, which Neotel is quite happy to keep, so I have every right to complain and make people aware of the problem as it stands right now.

If you ask me, they only starting with this now because if you look at the jobs available, they would - only now - be able to get this 'rpoject' complete :D

Update from ASA side:
The ASA has requested a written reply from Neotel and then it will follow their due process and I will be notified of the outcome.

Update form Neotel side:
I emailed them earlier today:

Hi Yugeshree,

Please supply me with the date as promised.

I phoned the callcentre today and was told that I can only get my usage for the month so far after the 8th, i.e. tomorrow.

The reason for this is that only the previous months usage is available until after your billing run, according to the call centre.
So I have NO way to monitor my usage as measured by Neotel until then.

It is now more than 2 weeks since our original conversation and in any reasonable scenario, at the very least an expected implementation date should be available by now.

The reply I received soon after:

Apologies for not getting back sooner. The product team has been busy with the solution and have a potential timeframe for phase one of the data usage requirement. The expected timeline for this solution to be deployed to our customers will be in approximately 7 to 8 weeks.

We will keep you updated on the progress.

The time frame given to you by the Contact Centre is correct, these are the challenges that we have discussed previously.

This puts the date a usage facility should be available to us at the last week of October / first week of November.
 
@Neotel Rep - Is the usage project still on course for an end of October release?

As discussed last week, our team has confirmed that we are on track with the release of the data usage functionality. We will contact you closer to the time to trail the application.

So I should have some feedback about this come november.:)
 
Its a simple application if they can tell us over the phone it should be a simple query to a database be it xml / sql / mdb.

The usage they give you over the phone is up to 24 hours old (this is what they keep telling me, anyway.)
Hopefully this will be a realtime usage implementation.
 
So its almost the end of October, Mr Rep do you have any news on or if the usage program is still on track for the end of this month?
