Guild Wars 2 FREE

"Free"

There are chat/economy limits and other things. Nice of them though.

So downloaded it this week. Have a question what is the best way to play with a friend "coop" ?

Can't say I can tell you it's the best way or not, as I'm only a couple days in to playing this game, but I find running around with people in the area I'm currently in decently rewarding. Even had a chat with some random guys (granted it was laughing at what seemed like a bug with a mission) last night.

To be honest, I prefer playing on my own until I understand what's going on, and all the mechanics. Otherwise it just feels like I'm holding others up while I read or try figure something out.

Thanks for the reply.
After playing now a bit (only level 12) now I asked my friend to join me via invite. We set up voice chat via gamevox so we can talk while we are playing. We busy doing the "campaign" together and take on side mission as they come along. He was also able to help me with an instance as well. So far Im enjoying it very much and getting him to join me was a breeze was surprised. Can see GW2 has come far into making it a great mmorpg.

Yea this is a tad presumptuous on my part, but after really having fun getting to level 15, I ordered the expansion from Takealot :D

Once I'm a tad more settled - still haven't even tried playing with the upgrade system yet - I'll see who I can rope in to play with me.
Ultimately, as a MMORPG, I feel it is best to play in company. I just think GW has done a great job of exposing you to other players, without making you feel like you HAVE to be in a party to benefit.

Been playing a few months now and still enjoy the game.

Make sure you do the daily achievements (not sure if it's available in F2P) and the daily bosses. If you are still on levels 20 and under, go take on:
Shadow Behemoth in Queensdale
Svanir shaman in wayfarer foothills
Jungle wurm in Caledon forest
Fire elemental in metrica province

You'll get good loot (once a day) and see many players taking on the world bosses. Google GW2 timer to find out when the boss is up and where exactly on the above maps.

When you get to level 30 you get to unlock the first dungeon - Ascelonion Catacombs. Be sure to include the story and other 3 paths into your daily play and you'll level up quickly and get decent loot as well. Every other dungeon unlocks every other 10 levels thereafter (40 - cadeus Manor in Queensdale, 50 - twilight arbour in Caledon forest) and is also a fun way of meeting people and playing with friends.

I'm taken a bit of a break last week up until this weekend, but you can drop me a pm with your in game name and I'll invite you when I'm back. Also, if interested I can invite you to the SA guild as well (although they've been a bit inactive as of late)

Yea this was one of things I wasn't sure what happened. Since yesterday, my Daily progress was sitting at 33%. I was harvesting some items in the area just south of Queensdale (the 15 - 25 area) and Bam, daily completed.

EDIT: Ok, so it seems like I just don't understand daily mechanics as yet. I realised last night that you can 'mouse over' the daily objectives and it gives a brief breakdown of what is entailed. One of them is for Gathering. I thought you had to get each section to 100%, not just one.

Haha both me and my friend talked about the expansion last night but will wait a bit and get settled in more before we decide :)

You'll get a selection of 4 living world activities, but only need to complete 3 for the daily completion achievement (the one that actually gives you achievement points). Any 3 would do, but I suggest you do all of them for the karma, experience and also helps you get to map completion faster.

Gathering - harvesting, logging or mining 10 items in a specific region. There are some nice spots on certain maps for harvesting (like in Queensdale there's a "farm" just outside Beatle run, Ascelon has a spot in the south East side of the map)
Map specific events (e.g. Queensdale) - requires you to do 4 map specific events (not the heart quest thingies). It's cool if that specific map has a world boss, because the pre-event and slaying world boss event counts, so 2 birds one stone.
World boss event - already explained
Daily activity participation - go to the lions arch activity npc (orange and purple flags on map) and participate in the activity. You'll get a quick tutorial on the activity.
Vista viewer - view a Vista in the required map/region
Daily fractal (once you get to level 80)

You'll also get daily activities for PvP and WvW once you unlock them. You can do any combination of these for the daily achievement.

What classes are you guys playing?

Playing Human Guardian level 15 currently my friend is a ranger so good team up.

snippety snip.

Thanks for the details regarding the dailies.... it helped me understand what was going on there :)

As for my class, honestly I've been tinkering with a few, trying to find the class/play style I like most... I'm really enjoying the Revenant, who I somehow got to level 12 really quickly last night.
