Hey thought this may be of interest to people wanting to check their lag times to the EU Guild Wars Server - got this info from someone there just follow the instuctions below
Thanks for contacting the Guild Wars customer support team. We would ask you to follow the steps listed below, to get further information for us to resolve the problem:
- Run a traceroute to our servers:
o Click Start and Run
o Type Command and press Enter
o The command prompt will appear
o Type tracert uk.coh.com and press Enter
o This will check the route from your PC to our servers. Wait until the program starts to time out after some steps (depends on your provider; you will see some lines of stars appearing when it starts to time out)
o Stop the traceroute by pressing Ctrl-C
o Copy the results from the command prompt and send it to us for further investigation
- Try to set up a connection
o Click Start and Run
o Type Command and press Enter
o The command prompt will appear
o Type telnet auth1.arenanetworks.com 6112
o If the command is successful, you'll see a totally black window, and as soon as you press a key, the server will disconnect and the window will disappear. If the command fails, you'll see the following output:
o Connecting To auth1.arenanetworks.com... <long pause> Could not open connection to the host, on port 6112: Connect failed
o Please tell us the result of this test as well.
- Try to set up a connection
o Click Start and Run
o Type Command and press Enter
o Type " pathping 206.127.145.228"
o Please tell us the result of this test as well.
Once we have this information, we will be able to see a bit more of what is happening and hopefully what is causing the issue that you are receiving.
Kind regards,
GM Trent
