Guild Wars, questions...

@Dan The Man

Im not sure of the exact slot you are refering to since im not at my home pc at the moment but I think you are refering to the slot which is for 'extras' or second hand items such as shields, artifacts etc. So no, this is not only for warriors. I have a fire ele for example and I have a wand in one hand with an artifact in the other which gives me various bonuses for fire.

Ive been playing for about 2 weeks since I got the game (not factions) and I have about 10k. And I haven't been trying to save or farm a lot. Thats just what ive been able to amass through the coarse of general playing.

For guys other than warriors, that spot is used for a focus item. It is pretty important. For example, the focus I use on my Ele is:
* Flame Artifact, Energy +12 (req. 9 Fire Magic)
Improves Casting speed using Fire Magic skills (Chance: 20%)
Improves skill recharge using Fire Magic skills (Chance: 20%)

and combined with my wand:
* Fire Wand, Fire Dmg: 11-22 (req. 9 Fire Magic)
Improves skill recharge using Fire Magic skills (20% chance)

gives me 40% chance of quick skill recharge and 20% chance of fast cast and 12 extra energy. This means that if I chain through three spells, often at least one of them is ready immediately for another go.

800K is not super rich, but is certainly not poor. We have one guy in our guild that has four sets of FoW armor, that costed him about 1500K each. A normal ascended character would have about 10 to 20K. This then goes up after a while as there are fewer things available worth buying. Many people eventually buy 15K armor, which leaves them about 60K+ poorer.

Thanx guys this all helps to create my better mm!!

@ Dan the Man

Whats the guys name i must add him to my friends list;)

cool, thanks for the info :)

so did i read that correctly.... did you just say those armour sets cost him 1,500,000 gold ????

I have just under 10K on my chars .....

Some of these guys have been playing since the very beginning and noce you have everything you wanted that money just starts too accumulate.

Big Thanks to lilDeath last night, was stuck with n00bs most of the night.

Yes, very roughly 1.5M each. Most of the cost is in shards and ecto's.

@gkm, hhmmm... can't remember FoW armor being that expensive... u including the materials as well in the price?

@mccrack
np dude, the one guy that did Ice Caves with us still wanted me to help him with skill capping, he would've paid me 2 ;)
Said he'd wait, don't know where he was when we finished Iron Mines tho...

I got some money :p

Yep,

Will see if i can do THK & Bonus tonight, or mebbe Ice Caves again seeing i missed Barrage ....

The FoW armor aka Obsidian armor cost 15k per piece to craft. However, to craft these armor pieces you need rare materials also namely, Obsidian Shards and Globs of Echtoplasm. These materials only drops in the UW,FoW and Tombs.
You need 120 Shards and a 120 Ectos in total to craft the armor. Shards can be bought for 3k a piece and ectos for 6k a piece. So yeah its expensive.

The Math:
15k * 5 = 75k gold (Gold needed to craft 5 armor pieces)
3k * 120 = 360k gold (Gold needed to buy 120 Shards)
6k * 120 = 720k gold (Gold needed to buy 120 Ectos)

Total Costs = 1,155k gold

However, you can farm for ectos and shards but the drops are relativaly scarce.

Good Luck!

I see there's a new minion for the necro in factions... lvl 26  and all bone minions are now lvl 20 :D

as for money I have a measly 15k atm :( spent too much money on skills already :(

but right now I just need a villnar's claw so in terms of weapons I have all monk greens, all but 1 w/mo greens, all ranger greens, all ele greens

so I should have a total of around 400k

I'm not gonna go into the whole armour but I have droks armour for all 8 of my chars and grotto for my w/mo as well as 1 piece of granite

now who's doing Iron mines? I need to get my monky over to THK... everytime I try the mission I get a damn error! Markus is MIA

Last nite while farming in SF damn Oro just stood there like a ****!

@Vexx007, thx, I thought it was the materials and not the actual armor that cost that much. Thanks for the breakdown. :D Don't you need normal crafting stuff like, tanned hides and bones as well??

@fishy, depending on how the nite goes and mccrack is doing he (and maybe me) will do Iron Mines again for skill capping.

Haven't done SF in a while.... :(

Yes, I was talking about the material for FoW armor. The gold component of the cost is nearly meaningless.

Yes, and shards and ecto's are a lot cheaper now than a couple of months ago. Until recently, it was something like 6K and 11K respectively each if I remember correctly, before people started selling them to buy Factions stuff and rubies etc..

@Fishfly, I agree with you, but then I do not like farming. Some people do like it and it gives them a target I guess.

uh, me=n00b... wot is "storage" ;)

It is crazy how Sup abs has also dropped in price..hectic, from 65k (already down from 100k before) down to as low as 7.5k as I have seen it. All in as little as 3 weeks or so.

Now imagine my disappointment when i ran to the Rune Trader to pawn my Sup Abs ...... 5.5K

I though i was rich, rich i tell ya rich!
