Guild Wars, questions...

hehehe... very funny... i will get them tonight if i connect after badmington...
 
LOL! So, could you guys play last night? I had terrible lag. I couldnt connect to districts, couldnt change districts, couldnt move. Eventually it got better after 11. I see a lot of pepole are complaining that since after the latest update (factions streaming) the lag has gotten worse.
 
i just hope it all gets sorted out by 5 AM on Saturday morning... or Freelancer will have to be played instead.
 
Just had that initial lag after 12 that caused my Frost Gate mission failure.
After that it was fine, i haven't noticed any problems with lag since the updates but then again i've only been playing for 2 weeks :D

Vex, what lvl char + class are you using?
 
Anybody else have connection problems last night i tried 3 times to do antoher part of the main mission/quest/story and in all three times i am still running around with other people killing monster and then bam it boms out saying error message ...connection problem please try to cennect again with an error code ....it sucked and of all now the people think that i just leave the team each time.....stupid telkom
 
connected last night in GW for a quick update and only 30MB got downloaded... i hope thats all it needs for the Factions preview...

from which towns does one go and check out Factions?
 
We'll after all the connection problems i left my guildwars at the login screen and when i came back after a while i saw it did a 112 meg update....probably for Factions
 
2 weeks ago my GW updated around 350-400 MB, i hope THAT was the only Factions update i had to do... :p
 
Last week mine did a 300meg update and i hoped that was all but does not look like it.... Hope its not gonna do major updates again tonight
 
yeah, we got a meet up with a few other guys tomorrow at 5AM... we DONT want to sit and dwindle thumbs again... :p

As far as I know you have to create a new character to check out factions. Everything on that character will be lost after the preview.

P.S. I think the preview is starting in 20 minutes time or something like that.
 
yip. it was 7 AM GMT.... so its just started... thanks for the info gkm on the character creation as it seems all skills will be available for the preview... NICE!
 
I just logged in quickly. Please do not tell my boss. :D It took about 3 minutes for me to download the extra files for the first area. It looks stunning.
 
Yeah, Factions preview started at 10 locally. To bad Im at work :( The factions streaming is more like 700MB, which is +- 1500 files. :eek:

Yes, there was that big download, but there are now extra files being downloaded as one enters new areas. But not as many as I feared.
 
phew... so i wont be that bad... sadly i am on dial-up at work to access most of the forums since websense makes nonsense on the works internet for a most sites. :(

And another 3AM morning behind me... heh useless, i got to Gates of Kryta so how far is Lions Arch from there? Swak... i thought the Factions preview was onyl tomorrow
