Nope never got into DL the map loads 100% and then gw crashes to my desktop I wont mind a reinstall but is there any way to backup my data I have downloaded so far or wont that help ?

hhmm, then try first doing a repair by running the gwsetup.exe file (file you initially used for installing GW) go through the steps and select repair. Test.
If this does not work, backup your data file (gw.dat) to another directory and then run the same file, just select the reinstall option this time.
After this is done, if data file is replaced by reinstall, copy your backup one back into the GW directory. Test.
If still not fine, make backup again, uninstall GW, reinstall GW and copy data file back. Test.
You might also want to try and get somebody else's GW data file which is up to date if your own data file is not working. This is what I had to do at one stage: complete uninstall, reinstall and used someone else's data file. (I did not have the same problem as you though).

Hope this helps. Just make sure you have a recent backup of your data file (gw.dat) somewhere, always.

Can somebody who is far into factions please tell me if one ever comes across quests that give you skill rewards.

I find it rather short sighted of ArenaNet to not give skills as rewards for completing quests.

I've completed all the quests possible up to the first Co-Op mission on the mainland (Vizunah Square) and I'm yet to find a quest that offers a skill reward. It's a little retarded that you have to buy all your skills.

Next question... where is the second +15 Attribute quest in factions and following on from that has anybody tried going to Tyria to do the other 2 +15 Attribute quests?

I also noticed this. I think this is why they give the 'other' rewards (gold, credits, etc.) instead on the quests. To help you buy the skills.
It adds to the element of difficulty. All those high-rollers now will have to use some of their cash vaults to buy the skills instead of doing missions to get them.
To answer your question: I do not know of any quests giving skills as rewards, thus far.

Almost missed your second question:
The 2nd +15 attr mission is in Seitung Harbor, after completing Zen Daijun mission. You get it from Zunraa (smash the gong if he is not visible) at the Shrine of Zunraa (South corner). You have to clear the miasma from the valley.
I have not tried going to Tyria to do the others. Don't know of anybody else that tried either.

I'm going to see if I can't get a run to sanctum cay over the weekend to see if an extra +30 attribute points is possible

I was wondering about that 15 point Quests myself. I was trying to run my Factions character to TOA last night from Lions Arch and noticed that the main Prophecy missions were available to my Factions Char, does this mean this character can also Ascend?

Will check all this out tonight

Levelling in Factions is easy. Nearly every side quest carries a 3000XP reward. I've lvld several times after 20 already. this is very interesting.

Would be really cool to be able to "Ascend" in Prophecies with my Factions char and or get the 2 Prophecies 15 attrib Quests

So u do lvl quick however it's needed as you start playing the factions side you'll notice that the bad guys in factions are only on a small lvl from the start to the first mission. After that it's hell crazy. With about one week-end of playing for 36 hours if you really only do missions you could get to lvl 20,
but the trick comes as to the attribute points. That makes a huge diff.

Maybe Lildeath's input would share more light....

Just made it to Arborstone (Luxon territory) last night.. there are some bosses on the way, so keep a cap sig handy.. Capped assasin elite "Way of empty palm" from a boss called "Xuekao the deceptive" dropped his green daggers for me too sold em for 40k

I made level 20 on my assassin in a little over 18 hours.

I managed to complete all the side quests up to the first Co-Op mission on the mainland last night in about 24 hours of game play. Will do the one mission I missed (Second +15 Attribute quest) tonight and then on to the Co-Op

You definitely lvl quickly. I started my Factions Necro on Saturday and reached lvl20 on Sunday in Kaineng, within 17hrs of gameplay. This includes every single mission (and the 2x15 attr) on the island and all mapping. I was lvl19 by the time I reached mainland. The 2x15 point quests helps a bunch!
This is the char that also has the "Survivor" (haven't died) title.

hhmm, interesting discussion this one...
"Closer to the Stars" mission is Factions's version of Ascension. So, don't think you can do this again.
As for the 2 Prophecies 15 attr quests ... methinks somehow ANet would have covered this one

you do level in factions very fast played somthing like 3 hours and my assasin is almost level 10 and that is while i was trying to take it slow....but hey its fun!!

I got all my skills from playing PVP.. I think that was the aim with taking the Skills from quests get more players involved in PVP .... however i personally think it wouldn't make a diif but aiwell.... I love PVP and i bought all my skills with factions... I think it's a matter of taste...

urm pvp does not unlock your skills for a char tho... so what's the point in having pvp unlocking skills?

I have another set, and Kenshi's Butterfy dagggers (req9) dmg 15% always -5 energy energy regen -1 per hit +1 armor +7 (physical).. these work gr8 btw...

you can borrow the Xuekao dagger (req9) dmg 15% (enchanted) armor pen 20/20 20% longer enchant..
