Guitar Hero PS2 Newbie

I'm new to guitar hero and need some help...

Can anyone tell me if I buy a guitar III would it work with any of the guitar hero games for ps2 from Guitar Hero I to Guitar Hero 5? Also the new wireless guitars do they come with wireless receivers or must that be purchased serparately?

I'm looking to purchase a guitar on take2 or kalahari (guitar III) and then purchase all current games available.

I stand to be corrected, but as long as the guitar is for PS2, and it is from the same developer as the games, it should work across the board. The same applies to PS3, which is what i did. GH3 guitar, and the rest of the games. EDIT: afaik, the wireless guitars come with the reciever.

Yup... I'm running a GH3 and GH5 controller, at the same time, on the Metallica and World Tour versions of the game. The only thing is that the GH3 controller lacks the touch-sensitive solo bar.
