I have just about had it with GlobalWebIntact and their arrogance.
I am seriously thinking of moving to SaWireless.
The people(from SAW) had an appointment with me to come and check if my existing antenna will suffice but never showed up and never phoned to apologize, a bad start I think.
What I don't wanna do is trade crap for ****, if you know what I mean.
Any views on the matter?

sawireless, do a search on the forum for some of the views on them. Global Web Intact likewise, at least however a representative frequents the forum.

Search?
I never search, don't even know how to.
Tried it once, got irrelevant garbage.

thanks

I see that you did not call back, as you said you would
pls call. Cell: 076 790 6661 Pieter Rustenburg...

thx

wireless..

if you DON't have CLEAR line of sight....don't even get wireless ..2.4ghz spectrum needs L.O.S!!!

o yeah...alignment as well!!! some techies are total noobs with this.

thats 2/3rds the problem

the other 1rd : wisps boost their signal with 200-400mW (and more!!!)amplifiers..and therefor your equipment can't communicate properly. (experience with h-1**)

my 2cents.

i've put pressure on vodacom for 3g in my area...and now with the PPDB i can HONESTLY say , h-1*** can go jump in da sea.... 3g/hsdpa > h-1**

Are you dronk china?
Pieter phoned me yesterday morning and said he was in Jhb, but on his way back.
He then said he would call me as soon as he is back and I can direct him to my house.

Again, the question remains, are you dronk or what?

A wisp is a wisp is a wisp, they all the same, add amps add bunch of antennas and bugger up the spectrum for everyone else...

my idea with sawireless is exactly yours with GWI, their communication is lacking, sent several emails to them requesting a site evaluation, no reply so i called them and they dont even service my area. Was very relieved when i heard that and i have yet to see a wisp who is eager on staying in contact with its potential clients. Id say stick to MTN/VC and wait to see if NeoTel offers some delightful packages after their trials end.

I swear, I find one in my area, Im going to build a directional with an amp and flood his channel with noise.

Good idea, lets knock these illegal wisps offline so they lose their customers and go away. We have nothing to lose.

Free wireless network in Pretoria East

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey all, im wondering if anyone on here is intrested in creating/joining a community wireless network in Pretoria East.

We need people in the following areas:

Faerie Glen
Garsfontein
Menlopark
Lynnwood
Wilgers
Murrayfield
Meyerspark

or any close by area i havent mentioned

The problem is YOU.YOU are the people that are making RF noise everywhere.

Jawug
PWP
And so on

sawireless u asking for a deathwish for your network pointing fingers at WUGs. I find it funny you actually had the balls to come to one of our meetings. No we do not cause noise we use one channel and we stick to it we dont use anything resembling amps standard 100mw and nothing more, no turbo mode kuk or anything like that. Let alone omni's chukking RF everywhere and only a small percentage in the actual direction you should be.

and we dont try and milk the airwaves just so that you can charge someone for their internet
