Hi Guys

I want to go back to gym and the old gym I used to go to has honestly gone to the dogs. So I'm looking for a new gym and between work and home I only have time for gym after work (knock off at 4pm, using public transport), so the closest gym I can get to at at-least 5pm so that I can leave town at 6pm is Gym Company. But I have seen bad stuff about it on Hello Peter... Has anyone had experience with this gym, good or bad....?

Most gyms let you try out a few sessions for free.

Why not ask and try it out?

Never heard of it or heard of anyone that has used it. But my vote would be for a home gym in any case. Much more convenient and you end up saving money over the long term.

Emphasis on long term. Gym equipment ain't cheap.

Personally started going to Virgin Active recently. Loving it.

Couple of months, you don't need much. You don't need cardio machines for instance - just go for a run. If you have the space, a barbell set and rack is everything you will ever need. If you don't have the space, a few pairs of dumbells covers most exercises.

Maybe I'll go to Mr Price Sport and check what kind of equipment I can afford they have...

I actually got some decent stuff there a while ago when I tried to make a home gym. I just found there's very little motivation when gyming at home. I've got a VA close to me so I can be on the treadmill less than 10 minutes after closing my front door.

I do better workouts at home than I ever did at gym, but yeah everybody is different.

goth_nerd, whether you decide to do home gym or Gym Company, I recommend you read a book on exercise such as Bigger Leaner Stronger. The reason is, you want to get the most out of the time you spend gymming and not just spinning your wheels. A book like that can really help.

Which one? I'm with Gym company in Boskruin, and other than they won't phone you back for anything - I've got no complaints.. :)

I've been to that gym I think 3 times with a friend. Friend is a regular there. It's a fairly decent place

It's a gym. It has weights...you pick them up, lift and put them down. What else do you need to know.

But seriously pop in at the gym the time you wish to gym. If there's one thing I hate is a packed gym.
