World Cup-winning Springbok wing Bryan Habana will continue to play his rugby in South Africa for the next two years, but it will be in the colours of Western Province and the Stormers.

rugby365.com can reveal that Habana has accepted an offer from WP to move from Pretoria to Cape Town for a contract that will run until 2011.

Bernie Habana, father of the Bok wing, confirmed on Sunday that Habana Jnr will be playing his domestic and Super Rugby in Cape Town for the next two years.

Eish....
I really didn't think he will sign.

Good for him I say. Though he won't win many trophies over there at least the type of game will suit him better.

Hmmm, wonder if he'll get that centre position he prefers.

I am not a Bulls or WP fan but did not think he will go there.
I thought it was all for more pay at the Bulls.

I would love to see him back at centre.

Moola probably.

Yep. Money talks. The Bulls said they'd fight for him...but if the price was ridiculous they'd let him go. It must have been a hell of a lot when you consider the bonuses the Bulls players receive for winning games and ultimately tournaments.

I heard from a reliable source last week that he would be going since the Bulls tabled an offer long before WP did and they said when they offered that they were not going to offer more in terms of money - its a take it or leave it offer.

He then approaced WP or something like that...

I guess he wanted to move to a better side :D

Should have moved to the lions rather than WP then :D

Maybe he is just tired of winning so much and wants a challenge? So what if it is all about money, his bok place is a guarantee so why not move for money and ensure when you retire you will be set for life :D

My opinions is that if he wants to move just because he needs more money, let him go. If he wants to move because he feels he has got a better change of winning a cup, then I'll be 'de-moer' in!

If he wants to move, let him move, all of us change jobs for more money. But I think from now Frans Ludeke, should basically keep him on the bench for all domestic games that he might still play for the bulls, rather get some of the new okes in, to start building on team works and their careers, doesn't help keeping someone in the team thats leaving at the end of the season

Gothan - Bryan will not play for Bulls anymore. He is not on the CC team and won't be. If he signs (as he is alleged to have done) he will be released immediately for several reasons, conflict of interest being second only to the fact that his Blue contract has expired. I wish him well - all the best to Bryan. He has served us (Bulls) and us (Boks) well and it is great to see him STAYING in the country. It would suck to see him off to France. I see this only positively: Bryan gets to up his game and become less one-dimensional and the Bulls get to build the next big thing - a player I believe will grow to shatter Bryan's record. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Gerhard van den Heever.

1.9m, a mere 20 years old and 90 kgs of power. Slightly taller than Bryan and at more or less the same weight, his greater leg span and resulting wider gait should see him become as good as old Bryan. Did I say old? Yup!

Gerhard has 5 very good years ahead of him. And we have him for most of those, if not all - he's BLUE!

I doubt that they will release him. His contract only expires end Oct so he will be available till the end of the Currie Cup season.

has he signed yet or is there a counter offer?

I think he'll fit in with the WP style of play.
