Hack a locked PC with a R700 USB Computer (or Raspberry Pi Zero)

How many times do people actually use encryption?
Most corporate computers these days should be encrypted I'd imagine. So unless you're interested in someone's anime collection or happen to catch a company with incompetent IT then yeah it'll be encrypted.

so anyone have more information on this?
(and i am not talking about reset the admin password, using a USB, been doing that for years...:- )))

Not many, but that's their fault, they can suffer the identity theft issues if their laptop gets stolen, not me.

This methods shown can probably circumvent the encrypted hassle, as long as the device is on (sleeping as well?) and locked (obviously not if hibernating, would want the drive encryption password).
Encryption should be set up correctly. Mine dismounts on sleep and standby plus if there's been inactivity. Someone getting my login credentials which I haven't even set would only give them access to mundane stuff.

My point is most people only set a password thinking it keeps their pc safe but unless they also set up filesystem encryption you don't need to be logged in to access anything. This attack is geared at people in general, not just corporations with a strict security policy.

Thats the problem 10 minutes, is a long time to hang around some ones desk your not supposed to be at....
Then make it 5. These are all physical attacks so they require you to have physical access to the machine. Getting your hands on anything would be dependent on how much time you have available.

This also assumes you can get anywhere near the machine in the first place. Outsiders tend to stand out even if they can somehow get into the building.
