Hacked ... sigh! stupid key logger

Hi

A few days ago I downloaded an nzb from a local site. This pc does did not have an antivirus. When I extracted it, it had another set of rar's with a self extractable. I didn't take note of this until I clicked it. I realized I git virus straight away as I saw pop ups instantly. So while I was downloading the new AVG i logged in to WOW..... (the ignorance.... )

Guess what happen next!!! Yes it was a freaking wow key logger! Who would think they would do this. In an nzb download! I am so sad about my ignorance!
 
Sorry for your loss dude... I wish at least Blizzard would bring those logging thingy's they sell for extra security to SA
 
Got whacked by 1 of those 2 except no idea where I got it from but at least got all my stuff back so was happy about that
 
i think people who hack and molest other peoples wow account shoulder be hunted down, tied down and skinned alive!
NOTHING more evil imo.

I can't believe people would be so careless... Get NOD32 as AV, and ZoneAlarm as firewall, haven't had a keylogger in 4 years of playing WoW.

That why i never run any exe files downloaded from usenet.
If it really is self extracting archive you can use winrar to extract it.
 
i have avg, it was just off my download pc cause i was suppose to install a new version! In fact i was busy downloading avg but got bored coz it was downloaded slow so logged on...

Is the iphone authenticator legit? Official blizzard?
 
You learnt the hard way what happens when you are online without an up to date AV (and likely with an unpatched version of windows)..
 
Probably wasn't a keylogger, but a sniffer program. Ure details prolly landed at a logger though, bad luck.

that is not Blizzards authenticator.

Blizzard's authenticator is a physical device. You cant download it.......

If you generating keys via some some software downloaded then it sounds very dodgy. I guess people never learn

EDIT: If isnt authorised by Blizzard then dont use it.

The iphone/ipod authenticator is from blizzard (official) and works exactly the same way as the hardware one but is purely software and is therefore free.
 
hope u learned not use avg,the program is virus on its own. Get trend mirco pc cillin works the best non om my account never got hacked before :)

Also if you open itunes and search for it in the app store then you will see it says it is from blizzard. Apple of very anal about approving apps for the app store so I reckon they will make sure it really is from blizzard.

thanks Gambit. To soulreaver ... what do you think? On the plus side blizzard is really fast! I logged the ticket yesterday morning and worked late yesterday when I logged on last night just before 11 all my items were in the mail.

Excellent. Just a pity its only on itunes. This needs to be made more accessible.

I believe that blizzards authenticator should be standard in the box. Not an optional extra. I think i paid £4 for mine. I would have been happy to £5 extra for the expansion if it was included in the box.
