if the device could hack WAP then its not that bad... also the fact that it picks up wifi signals up to 2 KM would be awesome as a wifi extender

the best way to secure your network is to turn of ssid broadcasting and use wpa encryption , anyone who would need to access your network would require your ssid and the encrytion key .

Turning off your SSID is pointless. Most wifi scanning apps out there can find your SSID in a matter of seconds.
WPA2 AES is the way to go.
