Go to Appleid.com and make sure that your profile info is correct e.g. email, phone number etc. Log out iMessage on both devices, restart and log back in. Should work then.

I have a bluetooth adaptor on my hackintosh media centre and my Apple bluetooth keyboard and magic trackpad work fine. The only problem is that neither device can wake the media center from sleep mode. The option is greyed out in the bluetooth system preferences. The tonymac site recommend the following bluetooth adaptor that fully supports wake from sleep:

Targus Bluetooth USB Adapter (ACB10US)

Does anyone know where I can buy this exact model? Amazon stock it but don't ship to SA.

Still struggling with dual monitor support, at least both monitor work and are on booting into OS but still no extended desktop options.

Intel board DQ45CB, no dedicated card.

That isn't fully supported under Mac OS, I'm sure you'll notice the graphics are choppy and stuff. You need a supported graphics card for full acceleration as well as dual screen. You can buy a cheap Radeon 5xxx or nVidia card for this, just make sure it's supported!

Going to use mac OS x as main OS and virtual machine windows 7 to run alongside for when I need to test network issues etc.

One thing that's annoying me is Safari, when I click on new tab the screens flashes just in the web space if you know what I mean, giving me a headache, think its java?

I need to keep my windows 8 setup running but still want to run a Hackintosh, at the moment I have a dual boot with Chameleon but would like to keep Windows 8 as my main OS and have Mac running on my second monitor in virtual machine.

What software do I need to create a virtual machine (image) of my current Hackintosh and load it up on windows 8 in virtual machine, I came across something about vmware?

VMWare converter will convert a Windows or Linux machine to virtual that you can run on VMWare Fusion. Unfortunately no OS Family support for Mac OSX.

If you have access to another Mac with VMWare fusion installed you can try this: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1388957#1388957

Easiest will probably be to do a new install inside VMWare Workstation/Player or Hyper-V (not sure if it's supported on Win7 yet). By the way, Windows 8 comes with Hyper-V built in if you have an i7 processor.

tried this using vmware player - created a new Vmachine, started up booted up OS X usb and started install BUT under disk utility it doesnt show any drives only the 8gb usb drive?

Under virtual machine settings I have added "create new virtual disk"and tried "Use physical disk" (250gb ntfs formatted drive)
The drive shows up at the menu where you select:
hd(0,1) OS X Install USB
hd(1,2) New Volume (this is the 250gb ntfs drive)

Try a virtual disk. Pick IDE and set to AHCI. You can convert virtual file to physical later using something like winimage.

Under vmplayer I only have option to set as ide, cant find any options to use ahci, not even in Bios of virtual machine created.

I think it's your unsupported graphics card

I have the same issue running an HD4000 on Mountain Lion... That's a supported graphics chip

Had to change it to open Home page instead of new blank tab.

Well this has me interested in hackintosh again.

and especially given i happen to have a 500GB external drive available.

i'm going to try it out first with the mountain lion for my mbp. if it works, i'll throw another $20 apple's way.

I gave it a chance but find myself coming back to Windows 7 all the time, some things especially network related are frustrating on Mac OS most likely due to my little know how of the Mac OSX.

I have failed to get a Virtual PC going for some reason so cant have a fiddle every now and again without rebooting system in to Mountain lion.

Got win7 running on Virtual box on my MacBook air, can't seem to get the virtual screen resolution to 1388x768 though, any tips?
