Can't be a very good one then.
Ah, the trailer trash of the internet
Lol whatever, oh mighty superdeveloper. I release my apps for free, and see no need to charge extortionate prices for it. I donate to free and open source projects. I do not, however, pay for apps. And R500 - R800 for new games? Bullshyte.
Ah yes, because you donate your software for free, you are entitled to other people's work for free, despite their wishes.
Classy
I really couldn't care less. Every year the development studios complain about piracy, threaten to close their doors, and every year they rake in record profits. 95% of software developers (not involved in freeware/opensource dev) are greedy bastards and should be treated as such.
Also several big software devs really don't care if their products get pirated. It's either those who are anal or have a highly increased sense of self-importance who kick up a racket about it.
Ah, ok. So the studio's make large profits, so you are are entitled to steal their software.
Bet the guy that burglarizes your house has a similar mindset
No. If I don't want people to try my app before they buy, that is my right as the dev of the app
Stealing != Making a copy.
And they're not losing a potential profit since I don't buy software.
Semantics.
And your logic is just plain wrong.
If I don't want you to use my software without paying, then that is my right. You don't get to just do what you want.
You are a typical, entitled, trailer trash thief. Plain and simple
Fair enough, but then you still have this problem where people will simply pirate it and you don't make any sales at all.
If your App is decent then there shouldn't be any reason for you not to offer a trial/demo/lite version.
I find that the Apps that never offer these are normally the pretty ****ty ones that try and fluke people into just spending the $1 or $2 and then because it's so little money people don't care too much if it's rubbish.
You should make millions selling an App that does absolutely bugger all if you marketed it right and got enough people to buy it purely based on expectation.
Meh. I've heard worse, and you're just flinging mud about anyway. "Trailer trash" because I pirate? Yeah...
As for you, you have a huge sense of self importance thinking that you're making a huge loss from piracy when your app seems to be entirely unknown in general and you refuse to even speak about it.
I really don't give a damn about greedy bastards, so if your company sinks, then it sinks. Then your software isn't that good anyway. In the meantime, I will continue supporting free/opensource devs.
I am saying people that steal other people's work are trailer trash, entitled thieves.
Oh, I agree that a trial version is a good idea in some circumstances. However, it is up to the developer. Not some freeloader
@Bar0n do you ever donate or get actively involved with Open Source projects?
Or do you simply go ahead and use their stuff purely because it's free and therefore no need to pirate it?
