Its really sad when people only play games for graphics, they should be forced to play the Monkey Island games so they can see how brilliant a game can be even if it has "Bad" graphics" and Btw Half Life 2 was still better than The "amazing" Farcry graphics when farcry came out and the reason they don't overhaul the engine, just update it, is because they don't want the fans to wait another 8 years for episode 3 quality isn't only graphics, people who think like that are superficial gamers

Yeah it has a whole lot of other stuff on it, but even then, just rather give me one good game.

I cant Speak for Tepx but i think we took that part in bold there and misunderstood it that you didn't feel the game was good. Apologies for the misunderstanding but i there are people who feel that just coz a game doesn't have the latest graphics its not a good game.

No need to apologize, I think my post was a bit ambiguous. For me half life 2 is my favorite game of all time, even today. The Gravity gun is by far the best gun in a FPS game, furthermore I enjoy a game where there is an element of puzzle solving, aimlessly shooting at hordes of enemy troops is pointless to me. The orange box is good, the value for money factor cannot be beaten. But I was hoping for a bit more innovation in terms of the gameplay, but I know what they say - dont change a winning formula.

Sorry HugeFan I misread your post and thought you were dissing Half Life 2, But what I say still stands, Even if it doesn’t apply completely to you, and btw play episode 1 and 2 with commentaries to see the graphical and engine enhancements Valve have made.

Again, no need to apologize I agree with you 100% I have been in many arguments with friends who feel that graphics are more important than game play, sad for them. I have played episode 1 with commentary, I thought it was fantastic, it made me realize how much thought went into every little detail of the game, most of which I did not realize the first time around.
