Yeah i've heard they all do. I'm playing with the router right now and i can't seem to find the pppoe passthrough option. It's using the telkom firmware. Any ideas what router model this is on the billion website? Perhaps the original firmware has the option.

As far as i can tell this model looks like it can handle halfbridge, but sadly there are no obvious options present to enable it.

Any ideas?

Yeah, it might become available once you flash it with an original firmware, but check and see if there isn't a PPPoE Relay option either, basically the same thing. Mine says that, and its the last option listed where I enter my account details in the router itself.

Other than that, there is a Billion representative also here on the mybb forums, perhaps he can also help, otherwise email Billion SA and ask them directly.

The Billion 400G does not support the half-Bridge, as far as i know it supports PPPOE, Pure-bridge and multi-session.

The 400G is on Multiple Session by Default, this protocol also allows for multiple PPPoE connections on the Router and on Remote hosts.

What do you need to configure with the "Half Bridge" option? On the Billion Routers Half Bridge mode is something totally different than "PPPoE with passthrough/PPPoE Relay"

I would like to use route sentry with it.

As i'm the only one in the house that uses local bandwidth, i need to maintain an international connection at router level which all the other pc's can use by default.

I then need to dial a pppoe connection for use with route sentry on one of the pc's.

You should be able to dial a PPPoE connection from one of you’re PC’s that is connected to the Billion 400G and Maintain a International connection on the router that will act as the Default route if the Wan Connection is set to “Multiple Session”.

From factory settings the 400G is set to “Multiple Session”.

I tried it again with multi session and raspppoe was successfully able to make a pppoe connection to the router.

So problem solved.

The solution was so simple. Oddly enough i tried using mutlisession when i first got the router but it didnt seem to work, so i discounted it as not being halfbridge capable. Must have been something related with my pc setup rather than the router.

Thanks for the help, appreciate it.

So it's official folks, route sentry works with the billion 400G. :)

Do u know have to port forward with a billion 400G?

In your router config: Advanced -> Configuration -> Virtual Server -> Port Forwarding

Give the rule a name under Application.
Select the protocol/s you would like to forward.
Enter your port range (leave the redirect as 0 and 0 if you don't want to remap).
Select your internal IP to forward the port to.
Click Add.

Not sure if that's what you asked, but there it is anyway.
