Hamza fails doping test

Quite a harsh punishment.

Removing a guys statistics?

Maybe Don Bradmans family can say he was on cocaine in his last match.
Then he can have a test average of 100

You would support a cheat

Harsh? He cheated and should be banned for life.

Not sure if anyone saw how Warner was manipulating the ball with a towel the other night.

Once a cheat, always a cheat

Didn't see it but was he not just drying the ball? Dew in the evenings in India is a massive problem which is why teams usually bowl first.

Yes he was drying. Vigorously and on one side. Who knows how abrasive his towel was. If you saw his body language through the game you could see how stressed and amped up he was. When he was under pressure the last time, well we know what happened

I've seen Don Bradman's technique and it's nothing special at all so I've wondered how he got those stats. I'm not saying he was not quality, he was but I'm suspicious of the quality of the bowlers he faced. I don't think he'd be averaging that if he was up against the best bowlers we have today. The bowlers back then were not as technical as they are today and I'm pretty sure that many of the players from those days did not do cricket as a full career and some must have been at the level of the semi-pros we have today.

He might have been in the Lara/Kallis territory though.
Yeah, so other players played in those matches with him and didn’t get the same averages.

I remember Graham Pollock saying when he say modern cricketers running around the ground for fitness he was shocked. They just didn't do that.

The sport has definitely evolved and become more competitive and demanding.

On the other hand DRS eliminating many Umpire errors which must've been common back in the day.

You can't debate bradman's average but he did have a few advantages.
He only played tests in Australia and England.
For him is it were uncovered wickets which would make it harder.
No drs.
Modern cricketers are fitter and there is a lot more analysis

Its never fair to compare accross eras. But agree that Bradman did have advantages.

According to Bradman's wife, his technique most resembled that of on Sachin R Tendulkar.
If true, then as far as technique goes, you cant go wrong with that for test cricket.

I read somewhere that Bradman had a fantastic hand eye co ordination developed as a kid by playing with a wicket as a bat and hitting a golf ball in an empty swimming pool. True??

He didn’t wear a helmet, no proper box or gloves. You get hit on the pads and it still hurts.

Bat was like a log, you had to time your shots, niot like todays mishits that go for 6.

Uncovered wickets. If it’s wet and seaming around you still play.

You could bowl as many bouncers as you wanted - bodyline series.

Todays cricketers wouldn’t be able to play in that time.

Pretty sure if Bradman played today he’d do even better,
