SterKinekor Entertainment gives us a new, brighter take on all things super hero with the Blu-ray release of Hancock (available in November 2008) which features Academy AwardR nominee Will Smith, Academy AwardR winner Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman, from the hit TV series "Arrested Development".
The action-packed comedy stars Smith as Hancock, a sarcastic hard-living and misunderstood superhero who has fallen out of favour with the public. When he grudgingly agrees to an extreme makeover from idealistic publicist Ray Embrey (Bateman) his life and reputation rise from the ashes and all seems right again - until he meets a woman, Theron. Without giving too much away, the storyline has some twists and unexpected turns and is guaranteed to keep viewers glued to their seats.
Grossing more $600 million worldwide, Hancock is not your average superhero movie according to Smith. He says he was attracted to the film by the chance to bring an original, unique story to the screen - Hancock, a superhero movie that expands the boundaries of the genre by stressing human emotion.
"Hancock is a major Blu-ray release packed with everything you've come to expect from a major blockbuster. It will be the ideal addition to this year's Christmas stocking," says Nelmari Claassens, Sony pictures marketing manager, SterKinekor Entertainment.
The Blu-ray release is packed with extensive bonus material that includes five featurettes and theatrical and unrated (extended) editions of the movie. The featurettes include behind-the-scenes documentary Superhumans:
