use butter to soothe pain. Use vicks, yes vicks rub. Works wonders on burn wounds

That sounds like it burns a LOT! Will try next time...

For future reference go to your nearest pharmacy and buy a couple of burn shield packs. They are EXTREMELY effective for treating burns. Every house should have them.

Thanks will definitely go get some :)

Go and Google the use of butter as a burn remedy before you use it. Most sources that I could find are adamant that butter should not be used. It could contain bacteria, increasing the risk of infection. Some sources also allege that it "holds in the heat, causing the wound to burn more", though I find that a bit hard to believe. The hurt is caused by damage already done, since you probably removed yourself from the source of heat. Where butter (or other oily substances) can cause more damage, is when the wound is exposed to sunlight or more heat. In that case - well, I to fry steak and chips in oil.

Alright, so I took your advice and got burnshield, and pharmicist applied the gauze one and wrapped it up as it's a gooey mess. So this is the before (this morning - could've looked much worse!) and after...

Okay great, Make sure your circulation is correct by pressing on your nail. It will turn white, when you let go it should go pink again with in 2 seconds.

Keep burnt are clean, DON'T break any blisters, reapply burnshield tomorrow after a light wash with cold water, and keep away from grease, fats, or oil based items.
Keep Wrapped with bandage and replace gauze if possible, if not just bandage up.
No cotton wool.

Must be dam painful, superficial burns are the worst on the pain scale.

Coke cans from the fridge. Hold one and wrap a towel around your hand and the can. When it warms up swap it for another can. We did this when my daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled out and it works like a charm.

Bags of frozen vegetables also work in an emergency.

On no account should you use butter.
