As a frequent Windows reinstaller:D, I lose my autocompleted email addresses in Outlook every time the OS is reinstalled.

Today I discovered (through our company IT department) that there is a way to "back up" these autocomplete entries, by copying the .nk2 file located in c:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook folder. Once Outlook has been installed drop the .nk2 file in the same folder and hurray, no more trying to remember those email addresses not in your address book.

Personally i use thunderbird and you can copy the entire folder over and that keeps your email, addresses and login details.

So no more setting up your account, no more looking for address book. Very cool stuff in my opinion.

I downloaded a free app called rebuild outlook cache. It scans your sent items and inbox for unique addresses then populates your NK2 file.
