"If this forum represents 5% of sentech users, then at best, sentech can say only 5% of users complain, so it's not that bad."
bb_matt 225 posts

Now im thinking that even if its 10% , which is more likely, thats still only 10%!!!

I sit here and read all these posts... people complaining bitterly (as I would if I was paying for 512kb and downloading at 2K/sec) and then I read the other people saying that that are quite happy. There are many theories... one of them being that its tower related. If you are reading this, and are active on the Milnerton tower in Cape Town, please would you email me. I would like to have a good chat with you!

If you would please whip out your calculator with me for one sec...

If there are X ammount of MyWireless users, and there are Y ammount of users posting on the SENTECH forum on this site. My question is this... and maybe one of the admins can help out here? Exactly how many users post on the Sentech forum? VS How many people are registered to Sentech MyWireless?

Im sure you know where Im going with this one... [;)]

So dont hold back people... give me your figures if you have any!

Well i know 6 other MW users and none of them have any interest in this forum because they have no problems.

So I think there are many more users out there than we think

Just because somebody isn't complaining, or is happy with the service, doesn't mean that they are actually getting the bandwidth that they are supposedly paying for. If somebody doesn't complain, doesn't mean a company has an excuse to not provide what was advertised. Many people who do little more than e-mail and web browsing neither know enough nor care enough to go sit and measure their speeds and do tests etc, just as long as it generally works for their purposes, i.e. that they can get their e-mail when they want to and view web pages when they want to. That does NOT mean it's OK to rip them off by giving them anything less than the service they paid for. You can't just assume that because someone isn't complaining that Sentech is providing them with good speeds.

I have been a mywireless user for long enough to know when there are bandwidth problems and when not. Like right now there seems to be a shortage as I am getting nowhere near the normal speed.

So yes its very inconsistent which is probably their sort of saving grace since if you have crappy speed and wait a few days, your turn in the round robin will come and you will get good speeds again and vice versa.

So basically I know now that the only way it will improve is to wait it out.

What is going on? Yeah, been getting speeds tonight (permanently of about 8 - 25 Kbs (this week averaged about 95 Kbs) Is it Mintek tower again?
