'Hannity' panel blasts Biden administration for pushing Facebook to censor content

So when the government thinks it knows better than the people what passes for acceptable speech (authoritarianism), and the political faction that controls the government is left-wing, what other term do you think would be appropriate?
authoritarianism?

Here it is from your Fake News channel too...

That shut old lumeer up pretty quickly
Our Democrat-or-die bunch here more than happy to have the government dictate and censor free speech if it's the Democrats doing it.

No. Freedom of speech also comes with consequence of said speech.

A 6 year old knows that.
Having to deal with the consequences of what you've said isn't the same thing as censorship. Maybe you're the one who needs to delve into a dictionary for a while.

If someone censors your ability to speak, then there's no way you can bear the consequences for something you never got to say.

Don’t conflate the government with platforms.

You can say there’s no god, but if you do that in a church service then you’re muppet. You haven’t been ‘censored’.

Time, place and context.

I didn't conflate them. Clearly the government is trying to tell Facebook what to do. Or didn't you read the news story?

If you say it in a church, you might be a muppet, but you can still say it in the church. Therefore it's not an example of censorship.

And the church can kick you out, that’s not censorship.
Platforms are meant to self-moderate.

Saying you can’t discuss religion on this platform as a rule, isn’t censorship.

Am I going too fast for you?

Fox News isn't generally taken seriously by reputable journalists, and who is Hannity anyway? Is he some kind of great intellectual whose opinions matter, or a technical expert in politics that we should care what his thoughts are? Fox is currently being sued for billions for peddling election conspiracies. They are nothing more than a political propaganda channel.

Hannity and Carlson go to the same play-school.

The church is not a public platform, and Facebook doesn't advertise itself as a pro-vaccine institution.

Platforms are meant to self-moderate.
If that's the case, why is the government sticking their nose where it doesn't belong?

Saying you can’t discuss religion on this platform as a rule, isn’t censorship.
But saying you're not allowed to say bad things about Christianity specifically, is. There isn't a ban on discussing Covid and treatments, the government is attempting to get specific opinions silenced.

Am I going too fast for you?
You're not even going fast enough for a tortoise, bru.

The better question is, who are you?

You've been given a CNN source which says the same thing as Fox news. Stop your nonsense.

When Fox got sued for stuff that Tucker Carlson said, their legal defense was that reasonable people don't take Carlson seriously. Fox is really a circus and not to be taken seriously.

Strange that you ignore the very serious topic itself of censorship in favour of bashing Hannity....

Oh yes, it's the Democrats that are doing it so you have to get as much whataboutism into the thread as possible to try and deflect. You failed.

Lately Democrat guests have been trolling Fox News hosts by asking them point blank who won the 2020 election. The Fox hosts invariably change the topic. If they lie and answer "Trump", they know they'll look stupid to most people, while if they answer truthfully and say "Biden", they'll invite the wrath of the Trumpists. So they just change the topic when asked this question.

The mark of a troll is someone who can do anything but discuss the actual topic in a thread, and keeps spamming irrelevant nonsense to derail the conversation.

It's one thing to genuinely believe what you believe, but folks like Hannity and Carlson just act their beliefs and say what their audiences want to hear. They are unethical, disingenuous and dishonest. Carlson for example casts aspersions about vaccines but won't say if he himself has been vaccinated.
