Happiest and saddest countries

South Africans are struggling and suffering more than other African nations when it comes to minding their own physical, social and financial well-being, according to a new report.

Zim beats us? our government need to learn some more from the old man.
Surprise Botswana is below us.

So generally speaking most people are unhappy by the look of things, go figure.

Yeah, Ethiopia beat everyone in Africa. Who needs food to be happy?

I can imagine two scenarios and there may be others. First the people polled were not affected by previous food crises. Second, many of the people polled know well what real hell looks like and so petty concerns such as loss of employment, having to get a second part time job, being forced to take a pay cut or not getting a well paying job after that 6 year R150,000 Gender Studies post grad degree are not on these peoples' radars. They're just happy they have food now in their children's' bellies. Third way may be that it's a more religious country where people have their preferences set beyond mere temporal existence.
