Hard disc full when there is still space...

You can convert FAT to NTFS in xp using the convert command, you cannot convert NTFS back to FAT. Also, your disk will not work on your XBOX, or any other device that requires FAT.

Maybe no USB 2.0 drivers installed, as FAT32 it shouldn't really be slow. Maybe it's just fragmented.

I see..

Thanks people, but I also want to just ask, you know about the USB thing...my flash drive doesn't allow me to change to NTFS.. I'm guess that is because it's the flash..and not the hard drive..

What size is the flash drive? I can format my 4GB as FAT, FAT32, exFAT or NTFS in Windows 7 - currently have it formatted in NTFS. Windows XP allows me to format as either FAT32 or NTFS.

Try another USB port on your PC... the one you are using might be faulty.

Yeah I'm just going to format it.. I'm going to backup etc etc.. and then format.. oh well.. anyawy, thanks for all the help!
